A press conference held by President Biden’s advisor on the growing border crisis was meant to tell immigrants that the US-Mexico border is not open. But it ended up doing the exact opposite.
Former ambassador Roberta Jacobson actually admitted that the current White House policy on immigration helped make the immigration crisis worse.
In an attempt to clear things up, Jacobson made it clear to immigrants that the US border is not open to illegal crossings.
But when Jacobson translated the message into Spanish, she totally botched it. She actually said that “the border is not closed.”
Of course, some are claiming the mistake was just that – a mistake. But others argue it was intentional. It’s hard to argue against the latter. I mean, if Jacobson can’t even get a single sentence in Spanish right, why is she advising on issues that pertain to the US-Mexico border?

Dubbed “The Book Lady” by her neighbors, Jennifer Williams hopes to instill a love for reading in students. So, Williams embarked on a journey to give away one million books to children in her local community of Danville, Virginia.
“Books are important to me,” she said. “My mother was a librarian, and she would read to us until we went off to college — not just off to kindergarten — but to college.”
So far, Williams has given away 63,000 books since starting in 2017. She got the idea when she noticed that students she tutored asked if they could keep the books she was using to read to her students.
That’s when Williams decided to gather as many books as possible and give them away. And her neighbors fully support her efforts by donating boxes full of books.
“My goal is to keep doing what I do,” says Williams. “The world is full of people who are just complaining. I’m just going to roll up my sleeves and try to do something to help.”
