The sad history of the Times going too far with leaked intel
The New York Times dropped a bomb a couple of weeks ago, claiming that leaked intel revealed Russia was paying bounties for the Taliban to target US soldiers.
And the Times pointed the finger at Trump saying the White House did nothing with the intelligence reports.
Just a few days later, the newspaper was forced to walk back many of its own claims as the Pentagon set the record straight.
The problem is that this is far from the first time that the NYT has tripped over its own intelligence reporting.
As a matter of fact, it’s becoming a real problem in the field of journalism.
