Pelosi will push ahead with January 6th commission no matter what]
Despite GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy withdrawing all of his Republican members from participation on the panel, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Thursday that the January 6th committee will continue to seek the truth about the source of the deadly Capitol attack.
“It’s my responsibility as Speaker of the House to make sure we get to the truth on this, and we will not let their antics stand in the way of that,” said Pelosi.
Pelosi prevented two of McCarthy’s five appointments from participating on the committee on Wednesday, citing their statements dismissing the seriousness of the incident and undermining the committee’s work, according to Pelosi. McCarthy retaliated by boycotting the committee and refusing to allow his three Pelosi-approved nominees to serve on it.
But Pelosi plans to move ahead with the committee no matter what.

Meet the cat that wears glasses to help children feel at ease
Danielle Crull rescued a stray kitten from a Pennsylvania forest nearly four years ago. Now, the sassy feline is helping children with visual impairments feel more secure about wearing glasses and eye patches, and the effort is improving hundreds of lives.
Crull owns and operates A Child’s Eyes in Mechanicsburg, where she specializes in infants, toddlers, and elementary school-aged children. And that’s where Truffles helps out with her now-famous glasses.
“She is literally magical with little kids,” said Crull. “It takes me at least half an hour to try and get to know them, so they realize I’m not something to be afraid of, and Truffles will come strutting out from the back as if she knows exactly when I need her help.”
Truffles runs up to the kid and tilts her head forward, allowing Crull to put on her spectacles. The mood shifts in an instant.
