The Pentagon is shaming the New York Times over its Russia-Taliban story.
According to the government, there’s no evidence to back up the claim that Russia offered bounties for the Taliban to target US soldiers.
The report forced President Trump to comment that he wasn’t aware of any intel on the matter.
Intel officials supported the president’s assertion, saying no one in the White House had been briefed.
Now, it sounds like he wasn’t briefed because the media made the whole thing up.
