Biden Breaks Bernie’s Winning Streak
Joe Biden is the projected winner of the South Carolina primaries today.
The win gives a much-needed boost to Biden’s campaign and slightly dampens Bernie Sanders’ winning streak on the campaign trail.
According to the AP, “African American voters in South Carolina backed Biden over any other candidate by a significant margin.”
Biden’s campaign is hoping that the victory in SC will provide a springboard for the former vice-president to leap-frog toward the front of the pack on Super Tuesday.
Current projections have Biden winning at least 16 of the 54 available delegates in South Carolina, putting him within 14 delegates of overtaking Sanders’ lead.
As counting continues, Sanders may see his overall lead disappear.
