Biden supporters are worried about the midterm election. Here’s why
We’re just about halfway through 2021, which means politicians are gearing up for the 2022 midterm elections. A lot is on the line, but Democratic strategists are getting nervous about their prospects.
According to a strategy memo from a pro-Biden super PAC, most Americans are unimpressed with how Joe Biden has handled the presidency so far. And if they don’t campaign hard enough, they could lose critical races in 2022.
It’s a big deal because Democrats hold a slim majority in the House, and the Senate is split right down the middle. So any gains Republicans can make will go a long way toward the GOP regaining control of Congress.
And if that happens, it’s pretty much game over for the Biden administration.
Political speaking, many midterm elections tend to benefit the opposite party of the one in the White House. Why? Because Americans generally prefer a divided government.
